Size and Serving Charts


Dessert serve - A dessert serve of cake typically measures 1"x 2". Dessert serves are larger slices of cake to be served as the main dessert portion.

Coffee Serve - A coffee serve typically measures 1"x 1". Coffee serves are bite size pieces and are for functions that there is a variety of desserts being served.

Weddings / Parties -  Depending on your function you may want your cake to be used as bonbonniere. Either size is suitable and Cake Love can provide small take home boxes in the colour sheme of your choice.

Cakeage Fees - Reception venues will usually charge a 'cakeage fee.' this is a small fee to cut the cake into the desired amount of servings and either place on the table, dessert buffet or pack into boxes. Make sure you enquire with your venue about cakeage fees and what service they will provide.

Torted - This means the cake is cut through the centre after baking and a layer of ganache is added. The cake is placed back together and crumb coated in ganache. a final coat of ganache is applied before fondant covering and decoration.

Naked Cakes - Naked cakes are cakes that have been torted with buttercream or ganache but not covered in fondant. They can be decorated with fresh flowers or fruit. You can also have a combination of both. Naked cake prices are charged at the base price for fondant cakes below. Naked cakes require a cake stand or platter. You can arrange this with your reception venue, purchase your own or request to hire an appropriate stand from cake love.

Cake Stands - Cake stands or platters give a beautiful lift to your finished product especially at weddings and birthdays for photography. Cake love have a selection of stands to hire from $25.00 and upwards.

Allergies - Cake Love can provide gluten free cakes and egg free cakes. Cake Love also have an alterative vegan ganache that can be used called Solite Cream. This is dairy free. Cake Love do not make dairy free or nut free cakes.


Sizes, serves and shapes.

Shapes available: Round, square, hexagon and heart. Different shapes for tiered cakes can be made. Cakes modelled and carved to design will be quoted closest to the number of serves required.

All base pricing includes cake, ganache, fondant covering, fondant board and ribbon. Basic decoration is included. Complex decoration such as edible lace, figure modelling, edible imagery and floral sprays are an additional cost and will be quoted based on the design. The prices below are based on round tiers. Square tiers are slightly larger and are $10.00 extra per tier. Hexagons and hearts are the same price as round tiers.

Chocolate-Traditional rich chocolate cake with subtle hints of dark chocolate.

Chocolate Mud- Rich and dense Mississippi Mud cake with a strong chocolate flavour.

Butter - A light buttery flavour that will compliment any ganasche.

Vanilla - A traditional plain cake with a pleasant vanilla flavour and pairs well with any ganasche.

Red Velvet - Gorgeous rich red velvet cake with hints of chocolate and cherry.

Caramel - For the sweet tooth, a dense almost mud texture, with intense caramel flavour that pairs delightfully with a dark chocolate ganasche. 

Lemon - A light vanilla base, lemon zest and juice to create a fragrant citrus treat.

Traditional Fruit - Traditional fruit cake using a medley of dried fruits, peels and macerated in brandy overnight. Covered in marzipan and fondant.

Choc Mint - Traditional chocolate base with ground mint and minted dark chocolate ganasche.

Berry Swirl -A vanilla based swirled with mixed berry coulis. Pairs well with dark chocolate or white chocolate ganasche.

Sponge - Traditional vanilla or chocolate sponge torted with fresh cream and mascarpone. Berries or passionfruit can be added to the cream if requested.

White Choc Mud - A sweet rich dense cake with white chocolate chunks melted into the batter. Pairs well with dark chocolate ganasche to balance the sweetness.

Mocha - A chocolate base with espresso added to give subtle hints of coffee flavour. Pairs well chocolate ganachse.


Dark Chocolate - Sweet and decadent with hints of bitter dark chocolate flavour.

White Truffle  - White chocolate and cream pairs well with strong chocolate flavoured cakes and berries.

Cream - Plain whipped cream sweetened or unsweetened for naked cakes or cream cakes.

Mascarpone -A rich Italian dessert cream cheese with subtle sweet tones.

Mocha - Chocolate ganasche base with hints of expresso.

Lemon Zest- White truffle ganashe with lemon zest and essence.

Solite (Dairy Free) - Solite is a dairy free sweet alternative to cream with a vegetable shortening base. It is suitable of vegans or vegetarians.
